Established in 2021, Southgate Mosque is a non-profit organisation committed to offering prayer facilities for the local Muslim community. The Alan Pullinger Centre in Southgate opened its doors for Jumuah prayers in November 2021. In just a few weeks, the number of attendees grew rapidly through word of mouth, and we reached full capacity in less than a year. Our community Iftar event during Ramadan was fully booked, and over 400 people joined us for Eid-ul-Adha prayers in Groveland’s Park. The Muslim community in Southgate and the surrounding areas, including Oakwood and Cockfosters, is growing. This diverse community, with varied demographics, ethnicities, and socio-economic backgrounds, plays a vital role in enriching the local area. As our social, spiritual, and educational needs continue to expand, the demand for a mosque in the area has become increasingly urgent.

However we need your support to achieve the completion of this purchase as soon as possible! The new Property is situated in Barnet, near Apex Corner (close to Mill Hill station) • Total land space over 12,000sqm • Over 800sqm building with development potential • Over 160 parking spaces • 3 large green park areas For completion, we require your support to fundraise for the final due payment urgently! We ask all brothers and sisters to kindly contribute to a noble cause that has been serving the community for over 30 years with many many more years to come.
The Central Mosque of Brent is an all-purpose, multi-level mosque that aims to serve the religious, spiritual and societal needs of the larger Brent community. The Mosque Committee was formed in 1973 with the ethos that the young generation needed basic Islamic and religious education and awareness in their own customs and cultures, which were in danger of being lost over time. Thus, with a huge local public effort, a house was purchased in 1976 at 44 Keyes Road, London NW2 which was renovated by the local community and educational classes commenced in the latter part of 1976 under the auspiciousness of a newly appointed Imaam Molana Khawaja Bashir Ahmad. 44 Keyes Road, the site of the original Brent masjid designed to serve the needs of the community. After a short while, the modest dwelling in north-west London was not large enough to accommodate the needs of the growing Muslim population, with Friday congregations filling up every plot of land, both inside and outside of the converted house. The decision was made by the Mosque Committee to seek a larger location for the new mosque – one where the religious ambitions of the community could be fully realised. After close consideration, it was decided that the current site on Lennon Road would be the must suitable for the community, being situated in the heart of Willesden and easily reachable via public transport. Thus, the first phase of construction began in 1988, led by Mosque Architect M A Khan.
Established in 1976, the MICB network first took root when a local community procured a piece of property formerly in use as a church, fulfilling the escalating requirements of the growing Muslim demography within the region. The architectural design of the edifice – heavily influenced by its early role as a place of worship, prompted a sequence of profound refurbishments and alterations to both its interior and exterior. These were deemed necessary to mould it into a mosque, but with the original structure carefully conserved. Major transformations materialised circa 2005, encompassing revisions to the spire, its conversion into a minaret crowned by lush domes, coupled with notable restoration undertakings within the premises. Upon the fulfilment of these widespread refurbishments, a stately inauguration ceremony was orchestrated to honour the mosque's novel appearance. The prestige of initiating the refurbished building was bestowed upon the highly respected Lord Nazir Ahmed from Rotherham.

Kentish Town is within the borough of Camden and home to a large population of Muslims. By the permission of Allah, the Kentish Town Baitul Aman Masjid’s (KTBAM) inception in 1998 stemmed from a group of brothers from the local community collaboratively renting a shop. After obtaining permission to pray there five times a day, the shop was renovated into a masjid. Successively, after 8 years, a second neighbouring shop was purchased on a lease, and combining the two shops into one space has resulted in the masjid that we have today. Progressively, major refurbishment works have been carried out on the masjid, including fire exits, brand new wudhu khana/ablution area, new carpets, shutters, doors and a complete renovation of the house of Allah.

This includes, but is not limited to, first-generation migrants who would require day-to-day assistance with a variety of issues pertaining to education and literacy, social care and housing, amongst others. Acton Mosque was founded in 1976 by two local residents, Aizul Haque and late Haji Mohammed Bashir in the basement of a local shop in Churchfield Road. A small prayer hall was provided by Wahid Bashir, son of Haji Bashir to allow daily prayers, in a room big enough for 50 attendees. In 1980s, the community purchased the present site in Oldham Terrace in two transactions, one from the former British Legions and then at a later stage, the rear car park also become available and after intensive fund-raising was purchased in 1988. At this time, the Trustee structure was enhanced as Syed Mumtaz Hussain and Amanat Ali, joined Aizul Haque to become Trustees. Thereafter, a crucial period of work led by the Mosque Management Committee, our Architect, Ealing Council took place with particular help from Julian Bell (presently local Council Leader) who helped us greatly to steer our small team through the planning process. Planning was successfully achieved and thereafter began an intense period of fund-raising. Work commenced on the present facility in 2006 with formal opening in 2008. At the time of the opening, Acton Mosque owed a considerable amount to generous members of the community, but by the grace of Allah (swt), we were able to clear all loans outstanding by 2011. Since then the Mosque has broadened services provided to now include West London's first Muslim funeral service and Islamic schooling.

Greenwich Peninsula has been home to a multifaith chaplaincy since 2003, initially offering chaplaincy services to the O2 construction site and local workplaces. By 2010, a temporary Prayer Space was established in a portacabin near the O2, which was later relocated beside the Emirates cable car in 2013. Open to all faith groups for worship and prayer, the Prayer Space is also available daily for drop-in prayer, staffed by a team of multifaith chaplains. The Community Room welcomes individuals from all faiths or none, offering space for activities and events that foster local community growth. The provision of the Prayer Space and Community Room has been possible due to the Knight Dragon's obligations under section 106 agreement for the Greenwich Peninsula development. The spaces are licensed to the Parochial Church Council (PCC) of the Parish of East Greenwich, who are responsible for operations. A recurrent advisory Forum invites all faith groups and interested parties for discussions, enabling them to raise queries, provide feedback, and hold the PCC accountable for ensuring equal and fair access.

Whilst serving a diverse congregation, the Old Kent Road Mosque and Islamic Cultural Centre is home to London's oldest Nigerian Muslim community. The Muslim Association of Nigeria UK (MAN UK) informally started in the early 1960s with a transient community of Nigerians coming to London to study. Initially staying only for short periods of time, it was not until the 1980s when a more permanent community started to develop. It took a further 10 years before MAN UK acquired our first place of worship in 1993 and established the Old Kent Road Mosque. We are a thriving community hub in the heart of South London. Our congregation members come from different walks of life and our doors are open to all. We truly appreciate the diversity of our people who each enrich the community spirit of our mosque. We promote spiritual development, community engagement and mutual respect for all.
In the UK, the Assalatur-Rahman Islamic Association (ARIA) traces its roots back to the inaugural late-night gathering in 1988. From the outset, a small collective of committed followers of the Islamic faith convened to share their spiritual experiences. Initially, these gatherings rotated between the homes of members who hosted night vigils every Friday lingering into the early hours of Saturday. The essence of these gatherings was to draw on the Holy Quran, evoking the blessings of the revered Prophet Mohammad (SAW) with the aim of placing their personal and collective affairs in the hands of Allah (SWT). Following this, a dialogue ensued regarding the general welfare, needs and concerns of their members. The Association's founding members were driven by an ambition to cultivate a sense of Islamic solidarity and fraternity. They sought to provide spiritual, moral, and financial backing for the vulnerable and disadvantaged, faced with the perceived adversities from their host community and its institutions. Prior to this, there was a noticeable absence of such support among the immigrant Muslim community. Alarmingly, some providers utilised their 'support services' to persuade members to convert to other faiths. Word soon spread about these gatherings, and they promptly became a staple for those seeking spiritual guidance or relief from their troubles. As the congregation grew, accommodation became a challenge. Individual homes were no longer adequate for the expanding group. This led the collective to successfully gain permission from the Muslim Association of Nigeria (MAN) in Old Kent Road, London, to use their premises for their weekly prayers. This took place in the spring of 1994. Around the same time, the group initiated daytime prayers on Sundays, for the convenience of its members, whilst maintaining their customary late Friday prayer sessions (Bushira night) held on the last Friday of every month.
