Westminster Bangladeshi Welfare Trust (WBWT)

The Westminster Bangladeshi Welfare Trust (WBWT) was initially set up by Mr Shaista Miah in June 2007 as a community charitable organisation for the residents of South Westminster and the surrounding area. The basic remit of the organisation is to support the community, especially those with English as their second language. This includes, but is not limited to, first-generation migrants who would require day-to-day assistance with a variety of issues pertaining to education and literacy, social care and housing, amongst others. Since 2015 the WBWT also offers prayer facilities, which is actively utilised by the local multi-cultural Muslim community.
