Whilst serving a diverse congregation, the Old Kent Road Mosque and Islamic Cultural Centre is home to London's oldest Nigerian Muslim community. The Muslim Association of Nigeria UK (MAN UK) informally started in the early 1960s with a transient community of Nigerians coming to London to study. Initially staying only for short periods of time, it was not until the 1980s when a more permanent community started to develop. It took a further 10 years before MAN UK acquired our first place of worship in 1993 and established the Old Kent Road Mosque. We are a thriving community hub in the heart of South London. Our congregation members come from different walks of life and our doors are open to all. We truly appreciate the diversity of our people who each enrich the community spirit of our mosque. We promote spiritual development, community engagement and mutual respect for all.
