Masjid e Anwaar e Madinah is the largest Mosque based in the Sunderland area, opened in 2018 by the local Pakistani community it hosts stunning traditional design throughout, before Masjid e Anwaar e Madinah, the local Pakistani community used to pray in a small building that was previously flats. They wanted to expand into a bigger building, as the building at the time was too small and there was difficulty parking. After years of looking, they found a large warehouse building. After years of hard work and donations from local communities Masjid e Anwaar e Madinah was opened as the first Mosque in Sunderland with a dome and minarettes. The Masjid offers a magnificent prayer hall where children can learn the Quran and about Islam and worshippers can come to pray, as well as a prayer hall for women.
