Maidenhead Mosque

Since its inauguration in 1990, Noor ul Islam has diligently served the community by fulfilling a profound need for a basic prayer space and facilities for Muslims. Over the years, our perseverance and commitment have bolstered our growth, enabling us to create a safe and inclusive space that benefits the community at large. From its humble beginnings as a modest prayer room, Noor ul Islam has transformed into a multi-faceted facility including an Ofsted-rated 'Outstanding' preschool, a full-time primary school and adult education classes. Additionally, we host regular Islamic lectures, operate a Scout club, undertake health-related initiatives and offer will-writing and various advisory services.

The construction of Masjid Ghousia initially commenced in 1995, tirelessly fostered by the dedicated and generous efforts of Armley's Muslim community and its environs. The inaugural prayer held within its hallowed halls fell within that same year. Our mosque has perennially served as a guiding beacon for the Muslim community, offering spiritual teachings to both the younger and older generations, and providing a venue for Muslims to gather and connect during religious observations. However, the potential scope of the mosque is far more expansive than its current capacity, and it is essential that we harness its full potential to further enrich many aspects of Muslim living.
