UKIM Sparkbrook Islamic Centre and Masjid is one of the oldest Masajid built within the UK that was established in early 1960s. Originally a house had been purchased for the purpose of regular daily prayers. Due to the increase of Muslim population the mosque had to be relocated to 179 Anderton Road Sparkbrook. Evening school (madrasah) had been set up to provide Islamic Education to the local community teaching Qur’an and Islamic studies. These classes were held alongside the Masjid’s regular activities. In 1999 land had been purchased for a new mosque and community centre. UKIM Sparkbrook Islamic Centre & Masjid is open to visitors throughout the year. We receive a number of visitors from schools and other institutions who to wish to learn about the Islamic faith.
