Founded in 1985 within a humble terraced house on Couchman Road, the Mohammadi Masjid has since progressed to facilitate a large community of worshippers. Rapid growth led to our relocation in 1998 to our current location, a substantial building designed to accommodate 500 faithful attendees. At the time, the mosque was suitably spacious for the congregation yet, as many of you have noted, the current number of worshippers now exceeds the mosque's capacity, resulting in a frequent need for Jumuah prayers to be held in the street due to a lack of space. To address this pressing issue, we have embarked on an ambitious expansion project. Our vision for the Mohammadi Masjid extends beyond functioning simply as a place of prayer. Inspired by the model of the Prophet's Mosque, we aspire to transform our space into a thriving community centre; an inviting hub for the youth, students of knowledge, and anyone wishing to deepen their understanding of the deen. To support this vision, we have a programme of regular weekly talks in English, Urdu and Arabic, culminating in a special guest lecture on the final Friday of every month. Delivered in English, these monthly lectures are led by renowned speakers to enrich our collective knowledge and discussion.
