WEST DUNBARTONSHIRE MUSLIM EDUCATION SOCIETY MOSQUE

Victoria Institute was allocated to the Muslim community to use as a place of worship and for Islamic education. The building was formerly used as a public library by the West Dumbartonshire and Renton councils. The site was provided by the council after the original worship hall was purchased by the council to satisfy a local housing shortage. Renton Muslim Education Society took over the then empty Victoria Institute building and refurbished to meet the standards of a modern masjid/mosque. The management is supported by the local community which must make more use of the centre to ensure a long term sustainable future.
