Incepted in the early 1980s, the North London Muslim Community Centre (NLMCC) sprung up as a response to the Muslim community's demand for services that catered to their social and welfare needs. Our journey commenced with the establishment of the Young Muslim Cricket Club in 1972, crafted for a band of ardent cricket enthusiasts. This club eventually transitioned into the North London Muslim Community Centre in 1980, when we started to procure funds from the Hackney Council to provide after school and weekend youth activities, all originating from the basement of St Thomas's church in Hackney. In a generous move in 1984, Hackney Council bestowed the NLMCC with the usage rights of 68 Cazenove Road, along with a grant for comprehensive refurbishment and construction of a single-storey hall situated in the property's garden. This property was amalgamated with 66 Cazenove Road in 1998, further expanding our presence.
